Charlie Gregg has announced that he will seek the District 6 seat on Florence County Council. This seat is occupied by Russell Culberson who is not running for re-election. Gregg is running as a Republican in the June 10 primary. The general election is on Nov. 4. Gregg is married to Jennifer Gregg and they have two children, Lilly, 6, and son, Liam, 2. Charlie is the son of former Florence County Sheriff Jimmy Gregg. He is a 1995 graduate of South Florence High School. He is a procurement representative for Canal Wood, and a former S.C. trooper.
Gregg believes Florence County is moving to position itself as a leader in many areas, including industry, arts, education and health, and he would like to be an instrumental part of this movement. “Many individuals in the six districts I’ve talked with are excited about my candidacy,” he said. “I am currently in the process of developing a team of community leaders and individuals to assist me on issues that not only affect our district, but the entire county as well,” he continued. “If given the opportunity to serve, I will represent all to the best of my ability.”
