9/26/2013 9:51:00 AM Lions raising funds
thru broom sales
If you didn’t get your new Lion’s broom last week, you’ll have another chance. Members of the Florence Evening Lions Club will once again be at the exit of Sam’s Club in Florence on Oct. 5, selling brooms to help meet the humanitarian needs of the community. Funds collected from contributors will be used to provide eye exams and eyeglasses for qualifying individuals, Christmas shopping spree for children of need, first aid and basic hygiene kits to the homeless and knapsacks to children who must find immediate alternative housing “We must continue to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves, says Al Yeatts, club president of the Florence Evening Lions Club. In order to do that, funds are required to meet those pressing needs.
Lions’ members thank everyone who contributes to this important ongoing work. You are truly helping to make our community a better place to live, work and play.” The Florence Evening Lions Club has 20 members and meets on the first and third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at Lizard Thicket. Lions clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
