You won’t want to miss the benefit concert for Lisa McBride on Nov. 9 in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church. The concert will feature several local groups as will as Seraph Song, a touring choir composed of musicians from all over South Carolina. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Lisa was diagnosed with colon cancer over a year ago and is still battling the disease. A love offering will be taken to help with her medical expenses. Performing will be the First Baptist Church Choir, Seraph Song, The Florence Men’s Choral Society, Masterwork Singers, singers from the Florence Little Theatre, as well as several soloists. An accomplished soprano, Lisa has shared her talent with many local musical groups, including the FBC Sanctuary Choir, Masterworks Choir and The Florence Little Theatre, in addition to Seraph Song. “How Can I Keep From Singing?” is the theme for the concert. “It is a song that Lisa loves, and it describes her attitude so well,” commented Rex Hunter, minister of music at First Baptist.
