Dr. Allie E. Brooks Jr., presented the prestigious Ashpy P. Lowrimore Award to Outgoing Campaign Chair John Hanna for displaying “commitment and dedication to his approach to life, work and service, where his natural integrity and sincerity shine.” A surprised Hanna, who worked closely with the late Lowrimore, commented that Ashpy meant a great deal to him. “It’s really hard for me to know he’s gone, but certainly his legacy continues on. He typified what it meant to be the complete package of being involved in his family, community and church, and in the job. “I learned from him what it means to be involved in your community and the return when you give a little bit of yourself back. I certainly look on this award as a symbol of how hard he worked every day to accomplish those things.”
