Peggy Brown, owner of the Clay Pot says “Over the past two years we have had some great singer/songwriter talent in the Clay Pot from the Pee Dee area. It is very important to the performing artists to be recognized for their talents they so often share with the community.” Florence’s First Lady Laura Wukela. who served as one of the finalist judges in 2013, said “The Clay Pot Coffee Shop is a remarkable center for the arts in downtown Florence encouraging, supporting, displaying, and promoting the works of a wide variety of artists.

The “Top of the Pot” Singer Songwriter contest provides a unique opportunity for showcasing and rewarding the talented musicians in the Pee Dee area while entertaining the community.” Ginger Winn, last year’s 14 year-old “Top of the Pot” winner said “The Top of the Pot songwriting contest is great for local songwriters. Winning has really catapulted me into the fast lane of songwriting. I’ve written three records since then and have a “Best of Record” too. I’ve continued to work with Ken from Southern Harmony because he is a good team player and I’m so grateful that he offers such a wonderful winning recording package for this contest. wouldn’t be where I am today without the Clay Pot “Top of the Pot” competition.
