Return Livingston to adjutant general post

Major General Bob Livingston is the clear choice to lead the men and women of the South Carolina Army and Air National Guard. No Adjutant General has ever come into the position better educated or with more command and leadership experience. General Livingston’s first three years in office have demonstrated dedication, integrity, and loyalty to the members and families of the SC National Guard. His professionalism has earned the respect of active duty generals from the Army and Air Force, the other 53 Adjutants General, and SC’s elected officials.
During a remarkable military career beginning with enlisted service, General Livingston has successfully commanded combat units at the every level from company through brigade levels. During a yearlong tour in Afghanistan as commander of the 218th Infantry Brigade, General Livingston was the leader of a multinational force Task Force of 9,000 soldiers from 18 different countries. As Adjutant General since 2011, he has overseen the deployment of thousands personnel, maintained the Guard at full strength, and ensured maximum unit readiness for federal and state missions such as ice storms, hurricane preparation, or other natural disasters.
The responsibilities of this office are sometimes misunderstood or unappreciated, since, by definition, their response is usually based on a calamity or emergency. The Adjutant General also oversees summer camp programs for youths, GED producing programs for teenagers, as well as the Emergency Management Agency for unforeseen domestic occurrences. It is imperative that voters return General Bob Livingston to the position of Adjutant General. He is the only candidate qualified to keep the SC National Guard strong and prepared to meet the uncertain and ambiguous challenges of the future. He is a proven leader, devoted family man, and dedicated patriot who believes in ‘mission first, soldiers always.’ Col. (ret.) Barry Wingard Florence
