4/10/2014 9:30:00 AM Library offering
The Florence County Library System will host a free three-week retirement workshop series entitled “Jump-Start Your Retirement Plan” beginning Monday, April 14, at 6 p.m. at the Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library in Florence and running through April 28. Taught by Dr. Jan Serrano, Certified Financial PlannerTM and Assistant Professor of Finance with the Francis Marion University School of Business, the workshops will focus on saving and investment strategies for building and protecting a retirement nest egg and planning for a secure retirement. Previously offered as a six-week series of one-hour workshops, this series has been condensed to three two-hour workshops so that attendees can receive the same information while committing to fewer evenings.
Each two-hour workshop (with a short break in the middle) will cover different aspects of retirement planning. Attendees can enjoy free refreshments, as well as register for door prizes. The workshop is designed to be relaxed, fun, and informative. The free workshops and related financial literacy programs and resources are made possible by a grant from Smart investing@your library®, a partnership between FINRA Investor Education Foundation and the American Library Association. The Friends of Florence County Library are administering the funds for this grant. Registration is required for this free workshop series. For more information, or to register, call (843) 413-7074 or visit the library’s website at www.florencelibrary.org.
