Trinity-Byrnes intro

The students in the Robotics Program will be working with a new generation robot from LEGO MINDSTORMS Education. EV3 will be the focus of attention of Trinity-Byrnes students in the new middle school robotics class. Over the course of the school year, students will design, construct, and program a series of EV3 robots to perform a variety of tasks assigned by Mr. Benigni, the course instructor, or contrived by the students themselves.

This year, Trinity-Byrnes will also compete in the First LEGO League robotics competition against teams from across the Pee Dee region and around the globe. Internationally, there are over 100,000 students, ages 9-14, who participate in FLL competitions. In addition to demonstrating their technical knowledge, students will also be working to solve real-world problems in the 2013 Challenge theme, “Nature’s Fury.” Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate School is a coeducational, non-discriminatory, college-preparatory day school serving students in grades seven through twelve located in Darlington, South Carolina. In the Judeo-Christian tradition, the school fosters development of every student’s intellect and character through strong academics, a wide variety of athletics, and extra-curricular activities. For more information contact April Munn, Director of Admissions, at (843) 395-9124.
