Dalton Russell is a 6'0", 210lb RH Pitcher/UTL baseball standout for the Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate School located in Darlington, SC. During the fall of his senior year, Dalton was contacted by the coaching staff for USC-Lancaster. After throwing a bullpen for the Lancers, Dalton was immediately offered placement on the team for the 2014-2015 season. Dalton began playing baseball at the age of three. His career began on the T-ball field at Greenwood Baseball Complex located in Florence, SC. During the Dixie Youth years, Dalton was recognized as an All-Star player and often received the Most Valuable Player award.
During Dalton's freshman year of high school, he was promoted to the varsity squad at Florence Christian School where he expected to spend some time on the bench. As the youngest player on the Eagle's team, Dalton was prepared for the upper classmen to fill the starting positions. However, that was not the case. Dalton started every game for the Eagles and led the team in RBI's and also batted .405 on the season. His career continued to escalate after transferring to Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate School his junior year. He batted .429 his junior year, led the team in RBI's and was selected as the MVP.
He was recognized his junior and senior year as a SCISA All Region player and North/South All Star participant. Dalton finished his high school career with a batting average of .390 while hitting 4 home runs and leading the Titans in RBIs with 25 on the season. In addition to being named the MVP, All Region, and North/ South participant for two consecutive years, the High School Sports Report awarded Dalton a position on the HSSR SCISA 2014 Class A All-State Baseball Team. With a lively fastball, and excellent off-speed pitches which include a polished knuckle ball, he should be a force to watch in the fall as his college career begins.
