The United Methodist Women at Central United Methodist Church in downtown Florence will hold their 16th annual UMW BBQ Fundraiser on Wednesday, October 10. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Each year, United Way brings hundreds of volunteers together to complete dozens of volunteer projects on one day through Day of Caring. The event started off with a kick-off breakfast for all the volunteers.

It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain. Isaiah 4:6

Joy Clary Brown, wife of Dr. Wayne Brown, Transitional Pastor of First Baptist Church of Florence, will have a drop-in book signing for her newest book, Finding Joy: 70 Life Lessons Along the Way.

Cooks for Christ is raising funds to help with medical expenses as well as travel/living expenses while Monica is residing in Georgia.

Just For Women begins its Fall Bible study on Sept. 10 and Sept 11. Kathy Griffin is the teaching director. The topic of the study is Nehemiah, “From trouble to triumph, rebuilding God’s way.” This 10-week session will be held on Mondays at noon in Darlin
