Phelps to perform at Palmetto St. Church of God

Multi-Dove and Grammy Award-winning recording artist David Phelps is scheduled to perform at Palmetto Street Church of God on July 24-25. This event begins at 7 p.m. both nights.

Ticket prices are $55, Artist Circle (reserved seating in first five rows); $35, early admission; $25, general admission. Tickets can be purchased at www.davidphelps.com.

For safety purposes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the sanctuary will be limited to 80 percent capacity. Masks are encouraged, but will not be provided.

There will be a live feed of the concert on a large video screen in an adjoining building that will offer socially distanced seating. Phelps will visit with fans in the adjoining building. For this option, choose the general admission seating.

About 20 years ago Dr. Lesley Kirby opened her private practice audiology office in Florence. As a celebration, she sponsored David Phelps to give a concert (sold out!). Fifteen years ago, for her 15th anniversary, she once again brought in David to yet another sold out event.

The event is being held in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Lifetime Hearing of Florence, owned and operated by Dr. Leslie Kirby. The net proceeds from both concerts will benefit six local charities: Harvest Hope Food Bank, McArn Food Bank, the Darlington County Humane Society, The American Heart Association, the Foster Care Clothing Closet and Youth Mentors of the Pee Dee.

Perhaps best known as the powerful tenor for the multiple Grammy and Dove Award-winning Gaither Vocal Band, Phelps has performed at numerous prestigious venues across the globe, including the White House, New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House in Australia. With 14 solo albums to his credit, David’s electrifying voice has moved audiences from all walks of life, crossing generational and stylistic barriers.
