DARLINGTON – The Darlington High School Key Club will hold its 2nd Annual Thanksgiving event from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the DHS cafeteria, 525 Spring St. Admission is $2 for adults and $5 for a family. Funds will be donated to UNICEF.

Mackenzie Strampp of Oshkosh, WI., and John Michael Rosal, formerly of Florence, were united in marriage on Oct. 17 at Vogel State Park. Albert Singleton officiated the double-ring ceremony.

DARLINGTON – The Darlington Anchor Club Pie Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at the Darlington County Courthouse. Cost of pies is $8 to $12, depending on variety.

Florence Little Theatre Schoolhouse Players presents, ”The Gingerbread Man,” to the public at 11 a.m. on Nov. 21. Performances will be presented to school groups, Nov.18-20, and are sold out.

The Florence County 4-H Healthy Lifestyle Teams cooked their way to victory during the recent South Carolina 4-H Healthy Lifestyles Cooking Challenge conducted at the South Carolina State Fair.

The 2nd Annual Florence Festival of Lights will be held during nine nights this year – the weekends of Dec. 4-6, Dec. 11-13, and Dec. 18-20.

The Fred H. Sexton American Legion Post 1 held its annual Boys/Girls State banquet on Oct. 13. The participants had attended a week-long program at Anderson University where they learned about our political system, government operations and procedures.

The Lord Cares is accepting donations for its annual turkey give away on Nov. 24. The goal is to give out 1,500 turkeys this year, as well as can foods and drinks.
