Miss Kahn, Mr. Nunn join together in holy matrimony
Celeste Marshall Allen Kahn and William Weston Nunn, both of Florence, were joined in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on Friday, October 12 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Florence.
The Reverend John M. Zimmerman celebrated the nuptial mass.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. David Alan Kahn of Florence. She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Clyde Talmadge Padgett Jr., of Florence and the late Betsy Padgett, and Mrs. Russell Ray Kahn of High Point, NC, and the late Mr. Kahn. She is a graduate of Converse College and is employed by the Florence-Darlington Technical College Educational Foundation. The bride’s heirloom veil was of handmade Venetian lace and had been worn by her maternal grandmother, her mother, and her aunts.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Mills Nunn of Florence. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mills Ferguson Nunn of West Columbia, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ruell Lyde Hicks of Florence. He is a graduate of Presbyterian College and Florida State University. He is employed by Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate School in Darlington.
Maid of honor was Mrs. Erica Lane McDonald of Nashville, TN. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Frances Swink Kahn of Arlington, VA, and Mrs. Kristen Kessinger Kahn of Beaufort, sisters-in-law of the bride; Miss Katherine Elizabeth Padgett of Florence, cousin of the bride; Miss Anne Tillitt Lewis of Greenville, Mrs. Leslie Aberli Mikell of Florence, and Miss Bailey Nicole Szustak of Chicago, Il. Junior bridesmaids were Miss Elsie Morrah Padgett and Miss Frances Ashley Padgett, cousins of the bride, of Florence.
Mr. Michael Mills Nunn, father of the groom, stood as best man for his son. Groomsmen were Mr. Mills Ferguson Nunn II, of Florence, brother of the groom; Mr. Clyde Talmadge Padgett Kahn of Beaufort, brother of the bride; Mr. David Robert Fifer of Washington, DC, Mr. David Andrew Schendel of Charleston, Mr. David Eugene Ward of Raleigh, NC, Mr. Robert Arthur Vaughn, junior, of Bluffton, and Dr. Andrew Thomas Zwilling of Middletown, RI.
Readers were Mrs. Samantha Owens Nunn of Florence, sister-in-law of the groom, of Florence, and Mr. David Alan Kahn Jr., brother of the bride, of Arlington, VA.
A program of wedding music was provided by Miss Clara Temple Williams, organist and music director; Mr. Charles Shaw Thompson and Mrs. Rebecca Eaddy Thompson, soloists; Miss Anne Tillitt Lewis, soloist; Mr. Arthur Eugene Morehead III, cantor, and Mr. James Anthony Rashaan Canty, trumpeter.
The wedding was directed by Mrs. Arthur Eugene Morehead III.
A garden reception followed at the home of the bride. After a wedding cruise on the Danube River the couple will reside in Florence.
