Lions service project benefits children

on Tuesday, 08 September 2015. Posted in Good life

The Florence Evening Lions Club recently participated in a project to assist children in our community by preparing knapsacks for The Counseling Center. The center provides behavioral and emotional help to meet needs of children with full parental involvement. The knapsacks are for distribution to a child and are filled with pencils, notebook, crayons, coloring book and stuffed animal.

The club’s effort adds a valuable element as counselors seek solutions to issues each child is facing. “Children are our future and this project demonstrates how Lions are committed to putting children first. Every child is important and deserves the best for future, commented Lion Matt Jones, Club President. “As Lions, we positively impact the lives of others through rewarding volunteer activities and teamwork.

Lions thank everyone who contributed to and supported this important project.” If you wish to support this project and others, please send donations to: Florence Evening Lions Club Foundation, 1907 Cypress Road, Florence, SC 29505. The Florence Evening Lions Club meets on first and third Thursday at 7 p.m. at Lizard Thicket, 1712 W. Palmetto Street. Lions clubs are an active group of men and women who identify and fulfill community needs.
