Market on the Square hosts Pet Parade on June 6
DARLINGTON – Calling all Proud Pet Owners. The Market on Darlington Square will hold its second annual Pet Parade on Saturday, June 6, at 11 a.m. at the Public Square. Everyone is invited to bring their four-legged friends for the event. Last year, around 30 furry buddies lined the Square for the affair. Register from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., and then march around the Square at 11 a.m. to show how proud you are of your pet.
All children will receive a toy for participation, and it’s free to enter. The Darlington County Humane Society will be collecting donations of leashes, collars, bleach, kitten food, and puppy food in conjunction with this event. The Market also features vendors selling arts and crafts, produce, plants, and more. Local favorite Rusty Henderson will perform live too. Vendor spaces are $25 with discounts available for nonprofit organizations. Farmers and children are allowed spaces at no charge.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Public Square on Main Street on the first Saturday of the month through October. There will be no event in July due to the holiday. The open-air monthly market is a partnership between Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association, the City of Darlington and a dedicated group of volunteers that began in 2011.
