59 earn diplomas at TBCS

“This was one graduation we will all remember because of the circumstances taking place in the world right now,” said Head of School Ed Hoffman, “but we could not be more proud of this talented class of Trinity-Byrnes students.”

Typically held at the Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center, the ceremony was held on campus this year with precautions in place to keep the community safe due to the COVID-19 virus. The outdoor ceremony was held on the front lawn of the school. Family members who attended the graduation were required to follow social distancing guidelines. All guests were wearing masks and the school provided masks for those who needed them. The ceremony was also made available for viewing for those who could not attend via www.youtube.com

Graduates were seated six feet apart before they walked across the stage to receive their diploma from Chairman of the Board Dr. William Naso.

“(The students) were incredibly flexible and showed maturity and graciousness as we all navigated this historic 2020 graduation,” said Assistant Head of School Kelley Byrd.

In addition to the conferring of diplomas, two Trinity-Byrnes teachers were recognized for their service and dedication to the school. Mr. Bill Truman received the Love of Teaching Award and Ms. Jessica Iseman received the Teacher of the Year Award.

As one of the top independent schools in the state, all 59 graduates were accepted to four-year colleges and received a collective total of $6.3 million in scholarship money.
