Nunnally wins WE Teacher Award
Last fall, Florence One teacher Patricia Nunnally received an e-mail from Walgreen's that she had been nominated anonymously for a Walgreen's WE Teacher Award. She was then invited by Walgreen's to complete a brief application about her SEL (social emotional learning) programming in the classroom.
This past spring, Nunnally, who teaches at James F. Reames Center, learned that she was one of the teachers selected as a recipient of the Walgreen’s WE Teachers Award. The priorities of the Walgreen's WE program include helping teachers meet students’ classroom needs and addressing critical social issues.
As a Walgreen’s WE teacher, Nunnally has been invited to a virtual international WE Teacher's Summit on Aug.22. In addition to receipt of a $500 Walgreen’s gift card to purchase classroom supplies, Walgreen's WE Teachers have access to additional training and resources, as well. In her honor, there is a plaque posted in the Walgreen’s store at Cashua Drive and Second Loop Road.
