Students serve as endorsers of DISCUS program
Earlier this year, students from Jeannine Franco’s Advanced Placement English class at South Florence High School volunteered to share their experiences and opinions about DISCUS (Digital Information for South Carolina Users) with officials from the S.C. State Library.
DISCUS is free to all South Carolinians to use and provides access to more than 50 databases. It allows students to safely search for up-to-date information without sifting through advertisements and non-educational results found in search engines such as Google.
The South Carolina State Library manages and administers DISCUS in cooperation with the state’s school, college, and public libraries.
The students’ opinions now serve as an endorsement of the South Carolina Library system’s information site.

Appearing in the video are South Florence seniors Hayley Wilhelm, Andrew Evans and Taylor Gribben.
