Brookdale celebrates Valentine’s Day with Valentine’s Banquet
The residents of Brookdale Florence celebrated Valentine’s Day with family night and a Valentine’s ball fit for a king or queen. The event included a meal, a night of dancing, entertainment by an Elvis impersonator, and the presentation of the royal court. The residents participated in many activities leading up to the ball from arts and crafts to specialty desserts and making homemade valentines.
The king and queen as well as the prince and princess were elected by the community residents and announced at the ball on Saturday, Feb. 13. They chose Diana Bailey as their princess and Julius LaPalm as their prince. Robert Mack was named Brookdale Valentine’s King and Maude Alice Hill was named Brookdale Valentine’s Queen for 2016.
The winners received sashes and crowns. The Valentine’s Banquet was attended by all the residents and their families. During the banquet family portraits were taken to commemorate the event. The Valentine’s Banquet is an annual event held at the Brookdale Assisted Living Community.
