Cash for candy, then gifted to troops overseas
The Florence Pediatric Dentistry staff, Dr. Kim Elvington, far right, office manager Brice Elvington with large toothbrush, and friends pose with candy for troops bought at last year’s Candy Buyback.

Save your candy from Halloween and trade if for cash. Florence Pediatric Dentistry will be hosting its 6th Annual Halloween Candy Buyback event on Monday, Nov. 2, as part of Operation Gratitude. This event takes place at The Toy Shop, located at Seven Oaks Shopping Plaza on Hoffmeyer Road. Children are encouraged to bring some of their extra Halloween candy, where it will be bought for $1 per pound (up to five pounds).

All candy that is collected will be sorted and then sent to our troops that are serving around the globe. If anyone has leftover candy, they are also welcome to drop it off at the event so it can be shared with those protecting us overseas. Along with the candy buyback, Block & Vino will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs for anyone that participates in the buyback event. The Toy Shop will have Berg pedal carts for children and adults to test drive, as well as a drawing for prizes from the store.

Over the past five years, Florence Pediatric Dentistry has collected over 1,000 pounds of candy at this event. Also a big thank you goes to www.toledocarolina.com for offering one of their high quality scales each year and to Carolina Mailbox for handling all of the shipping and handling. If anyone needs more information or would like to drop off candy on a different day, please contact Florence Pediatric Dentistry at 661-5700 or email them at This email address is being protected from spambots.
