Circle of Unity Day on Saturday

The North Florence Concerned Citizens, in conjunction with the Florence Housing Authority, Florence Police Department, Parks and Beautification and the community at-large, will host a Circle of Unity Day on Saturday, Sept. 24, in Iola Jones Park on Oakland Ave. from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The community will be educated through mock scenarios directed by the Florence Police Department on how to react during traffic stops and/or street stops. They will explain the tactics used, as well as explain the reason why certain methods are used during certain stops or frisks. They will also take questions from the community. This is in an effort to illustrate ways to keep our communities safe, and to give citizens an opportunity to voice constructive opinions.
