DAR chapter installs new officers for 22-24

The Samuel Bacot chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution of Florence recently installed new officers for the 2022-24 term: Pictured, from left to right, are Daryn Sasser, Past Regent, Margaret Cox, Jan Hursey, and Margaret Collar.

  The Samuel Bacot chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution of Florence recently held its May meeting.

    The following new officers were installed for the 2022-24 term: Margaret Cox, Regent; Jan Hursey, Recording Secretary; and Margaret Collar, Corresponding Secretary.

       At the luncheon meeting, chapter members also recognized a member who celebrated her 100th birthday on May 11. Belle Smith and her two daughters, Betsy Langston and Cynthia Bridges, are all members of the chapter.

         The Samuel Bacot chapter, NSDAR was chartered in 1908 and has a long history of service to our community and nation. Members participate in a wide variety of activities and events within the framework of our Society’s mission of historic preservation, patriotism, and education.
