Say Cheese! Share your favorite photos of your pets while raising money for the animals.
The Florence Area Humane Society’s annual calendar fundraiser is presently open for submissions and voting.
Pet parents, do you have a great photo of your eager-to-please equine, frisky feline, or priceless pooch? Don’t miss this opportunity to feature your beloved animal friend in the annual Florence Area Humane Society “Paparazzi for Pets” 2022 Calendar. The pet calendar raises funds for the vital services FAHS will provide for over 2,000 homeless and neglected animals this year.
Submit your pet photos at www.gogophotocontest .com/fahs2022paparazziforpets. Online voting will continue through picture through Sept. 27. Prizes include having your pet featured on a month spread in the 2022 calendar, a specially prepared Italian dinner for four, gift certificates to local businesses and more.
A minimum $20 donation per submission is required to enter the contest and $1 to vote.
All submitted photographs will be featured in FAHS’s 2022 full-sized photo calendar, either as the monthly prize-winner or on days of the week throughout the month.
In addition to celebrating area pets and highlighting those in need, this year’s calendar will spotlight amazing teachers in our community. Twelve teachers will be featured with the top voted pets in our 2022 calendar. Enter a photo of a local teacher along with their name and place of work. Encourage friends to vote for your teacher to win great prizes. Photo submissions and votes require a minimum donation of $20 to submit a photo and $1 to vote.
“Start snapping fun photos of your pet and make your pet a star.” said Liz Parrish, FAHS Board member and 2022 calendar organizer. “This year’s “Paparazzi for Pets” fundraiser is a great way for our community to support our organization and show off their furry friends. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to provide shelter and medical care for the homeless and neglected animals that so desperately need our help.”
The top 12 pets will get their picture taken together with the top 12 teachers. They will be featured as the pet and teacher of the month.
Featured in this year’s calendar is Harriet, a badly injured Chihuahua who suffered a broken pelvis and severe neurological damage after being hit by a car. Despite her challenges and injuries, Harriet’s spirit remains unbroken and her determination to recover has been remarkable.
“Harriet’s resilience in the face of hardship and her love for everyone around her is amazing,” said Kellie Middleton, Harriett’s foster parent. More information on Harriet can be found on her Facebook page, Helping Harriet Heal.
Sales from the calendar will enable FAHS to help other pets in need like Harriet.
The Florence Area Humane Society is a non-profit animal welfare organization committed to the well-being of animals and to the creation of a responsible and humane community.
