FMU softball drops pair to Mountain Lions
Ninth-ranked Young Harris College swept a doubleheader from Francis Marion University Sunday, winning 8-2 and 8-0 in Peach Belt Conference softball action.
Francis Marion (10-20, 6-12) will conclude its 2021 season on Sunday at 1 p.m. with a Senior Day twinbill against Lander University. Attendance is limited to 250 and that includes only season ticket holders, FMU students with pre-acquired tickets, and family members of players and staff with pre-reserved tickets. No walk-up game-day tickets will be sold.
In Sunday’s opener, Francis Marion sophomore right-hander Rachel Davis (5-6) took the loss.
Sophomore right-hander Taylor Florea (4-8) took the game-two loss as she worked six innings.
Megan Matsil and senior infielder Ashtyn Patterson had a hit in both ends of the twinbill for the Patriots.
