Patriots welcome transfer athletes
Francis Marion University softball coach Stacey Vallee recently announced outfielder Hannah Marlar of Springfield, Tenn., will transfer to FMU for the 2020 season.
Marlar joins the Patriot program after playing two seasons at Volunteer State Community College in Tennessee.
This past season, the left-handed batter hit .279 with 32 runs scored, seven doubles, three triples, three home runs, and a team-high 48 runs batted in. She registered a .355 on-base percentage and was a perfect 9-for-9 in stolen bases. She helped lead the Pioneers to a 28-18 mark while earning second team All-TCCAA (Tennessee Community College Athletic Association) honors.
Baseball adds outfielder Carter
Francis Marion University baseball coach Art Inabinet has announced the addition of outfielder Jon-Mitchell Carter of Hamer to the FMU program.
Carter comes to the Patriots after spending a red-shirt freshman season at Coastal Carolina University and will have four years of eligibility at Francis Marion.
He is a graduate of Dillon High School. As a member of the Wildcat program, he earned All-State honors four times.
Carter is currently playing with the Florence RedWolves.
